This year they are offering 4 home-culture camp programs: African American, Chinese, Eastern European and Latin American. These programs are designed for children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade
in the fall of 2015. Children will be divided into groups by age and
will participate in cultural experiences that may involve: language,
food, dance, song, folklore, traditions, architecture, and exploring the
people/land/animals of their homeland.
They developed a new program for pre-teens and teens last summer and it was a great success! Campers entering grades 7th through 10th
will be eligible for this new program (ages 12 – 15). Pre-teens /
teens will spend the morning in the teen camp and the afternoon back in
their home camps. For those pre-teens / teens that would prefer, they
may remain in their home culture camps for the entire day.
They also offer a program for younger children. Safari
is for pre-school age children, typically 3 and 4 year olds. Safari
resembles a modified pre-school program, which includes cultural
activities and games. Safari’s enrollment is limited to families with
an older child enrolled in one of our other programs and where a parent
volunteers at camp for the week.
