Adoptees Grow Up: Adoption Through the Lifespan

This interactive workshop will discuss issues, challenges and rewards as adoptees age. Typically the focus is on the adoptee as an infant or young child but this workshop will focus on adoption throughout the lifespan at various developmental stages.  Adoption issues can also change over time; and families and professionals can learn what these changes are as well as ways to help the adopted child grow to be a healthy adopted adult. Krista uses personal and professional examples throughout the workshop.


Workshop will be held at the Holt-Sunny Ridge Office:

About the Presenter:
 
 Krista Woods, MSW/ LCSW is the founder of Integrity Clinical Consulting & Training, and has served as therapist, coach and trainer for individuals, groups and agencies. She serves on the Board of the American Adoption Congress, as the IL State Rep and Professional Liaison. Krista is a biracial (African-American/Caucasian), transracial adoptee from foster care and has met several members of her birth family. She also has several family members who joined her family by adoption.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois and has been a conference presenter and trainer on issues of foster care, adoption, child abuse and neglect since 1994.
