A
new KIDS COUNT Policy Report highlights the urgent need to ensure that
everything possible is being done to find loving, nurturing and
supported families for children in foster care. Every Kid Needs a Family: Giving Children in the Child Welfare System the Best Chance for Success
shows how state and local government leaders and communities can work
together to help the 57,000 children in foster care who are living in
group placements on any given night. The report also offers ways in
which residential treatment can help young people return to families
more quickly.
