Many foster parents have said that is was in prayer that they became inspired to open their home to a child in need. Children who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or abandonment need a safe place to heal, to learn, and to grow.  Is God calling you?

D.C.F.S. Classes at Willow Creek Community Church

 

 

Calling all prospective foster families!  If you are interested in becoming licensed foster parents,  mandatory P.R.I.D.E.  classes will be held at Willow Creek/So. Barrington this spring.  Please note: you must be referred to this class by a foster care agency, and register through DCFS.

PRIDE PRE-SERVICE TRAINING FOR PROSPECTIVE FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE PARENTS 27 hours

The goal of this competency based training is to share essential information about fostering and adopting that will help the participants to develop into a successful foster and/or adoptive family.  It will also help you to learn the knowledge and skills you need to make an informed decision about fostering or adopting and get off to a healthy start. 27 hours.

D.C.F.S.Foster/Adopt PRIDE Training at Willow Creek

Are you interested in investing in the life of a child by becoming licensed to be a D.C.F.S. foster parent?

The DCFS Pre-Service training program Foster/Adopt PRIDE will be offered at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL. The sessions will start on May 3rd and will run nine consecutive Thursday evenings from 6:30p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The 27 hours of training is based on a co-trainer model of a foster parent and agency social work staff member. If you are interested in registering for this class, you must have an agency refer you for the training.

Joyce Moffit, a member of our leadership team, foster care recruiter for Youth Services Bureau of Illinois Valley (YSB) and a DCFS master trainer, will be one of the trainers for this session. Foster families who have successfully completed this training program will be well prepared to meet the needs of the foster children in their care.

D.C.F.S. PRIDE training offered at Willow Creek Community Church

Many of our families have expressed an interest in becoming licensed to become DCFS foster parents. One of the requirements to become licensed is to complete the DCFS Foster Care P.R.I.D.E. Training.

We are happy to let you know that this fall, a P.R.I.D.E. training will be held at Willow Creek Community Church, So. Barrington Campus. If you have been considering becoming a licensed foster care family, please contact a foster care agency that can help you through the process. I've listed three agencies below, but you are free to choose any other licensed agency. Please note that you MUST be referred by an agency in order to attend this training.
