There are over 1.3 million homeless children just in the United States. While many are struggling with their families just to survive, many of them are making an effort to get an education; often overcoming what seems like insurmountable odds.
In this show you will meet some of these remarkable children and see what they have to do just to go to school everyday so they can get an education. Most people don't think of children, when they hear the word homeless, but the number of homeless children in the U.S. is shocking. Not in some third world country, but right here in America, there are 1.3 million homeless children. They are not confined to one area of the country, homeless children are struggling to survive in every state, in rural, urban and suburban areas.
The children become homeless for many reasons, whether it is abuse, neglect, death, divorce, home fire, foreclosures, or medical tragedies, the number is growing.
Educating these children is the best way to solve the problem and end the cycle. The good news is these kids want to go to school and what they do to get to school will surprise you.
America's Invisible Children shares the personal stories of homeless children from elementary to high school, overcoming unimaginable obstacles every day, in order to get their education.
