October 21st from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Bombobar
832 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60607

That’s right!  We’re stretching our limbs a bit this year and making a real effort to meet even more new friends across the country and Chicago is our first step.  Let’s call it our tricep stretch.
You may not realize, but Adopteen held our first Camp-Conference back in 2008.  That means 2018 marks our 10th Anniversary and, other than feeling a bit old, we’re antsy to start celebrating!
Meet Laura Williams, Adopteen Chicago Coordinator.  Laura will be coordinating monthly Adopteen Hangouts around Chicago (thanks, Laura!) and we want you to join!  Bombobar is delicious and we expect to see plenty of Instagram posts and snaps.  Come for the tasty treats, stay for the quality hang time!

Adopteen Midpoint Retreat in Oregon!

Registration for the Adopteen Midpoint Retreat in Oregon is open!

Adopteen focuses on providing positive, face to face opportunities for teen adoptees ages 13 and up.  It’s a chance to meet other adoptees in a casual and positive environment that is organized and led by young adult adoptees!  We host events throughout the year and travel to a different part of the country each time.  We strive to make new friends, and take pride in who we are and where we come from.

Midpoint is a chance for adoptees to get a quick taste of Adopteen.  It’s a whole Camp-Conference packed into a long weekend - a small dose of all the fun a Camp-Conference has to offer.  We will be going to Gresham, Oregon this year, which is 30 minutes outside of Portland, from January 14-16th. We are excited to be surrounded by the beautiful woods for our outdoor adventure!

Click below for a quick overview of what our Camp-Conferences have to offer!

Host a Chinese Orphan This Christmas

HOST A CHILD FROM CHINA THIS WINTER
CCAI is proud to announce our 2015 Winter China Hosting Program!  Please consider giving the gift of family and make a difference in an orphan's life for 3 to 4 weeks this holiday season.

Families choose to host for a variety of reasons.  All families want to share the gift of holiday with an orphan; some families ultimately want to adopt the child they host; other families host a child to advocate for their adoption. Whatever your reason is for hosting, please know that you are impacting the life of a child in more ways than you will ever know!

As the result of hosting, 86% of older children that were hosted through CCAI’s China Hosting Program over the past year have found their forever families.  These children may never have been adopted or even had the opportunity to be adopted if it were not for the hosting program.

The Winter 2015 Photo Listing is available. Register now to see the photo listing of orphans who are participating in this program: https://www.ccaifamily.org/Hosting/Host-Register.aspx.  Registration is free. Once you register you will receive a confirmation email with a link and a password to view the private photo listing.  If you have questions, see a child you are interested in hosting this winter, or if you are interested in being a back-up host family, please contact the China Hosting Program Coordinator at hosting@ccaifamily.org or at 303-850-9998. We have volunteers who can answer questions after hours and on weekends: For the Eastern half of the US you can contact Kelly (407) 925-3732, and for the Western half of the US you can contact Michele (540) 847-9265. Many of the children will be placed on hold VERY QUICKLY!

For more information on hosting a child from China this winter, please visit our website at http://www.ccaifamily.org/hosting/chinahostingprogram.aspx.  Please help us spread the word about CCAI’s China Hosting Program!  We have attached a flyer you can print to use at churches, schools, or other community organizations.

Chinese Orphan Summer Hosting Opportunity

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF
AN OLDER ORPHAN
FROM CHINA THIS SUMMER

There are many ways you CAN make a difference this summer!  Do you have room in your heart and your home to host a child from China for 4 weeks this summer?  Have you considered being a back-up host family?  Are you able to make a monetary donation to bring an orphan to the US to be hosted?  Or are you able to simply spread the word in your community? Now is your opportunity to make a difference! CCAI’s 2015 Summer China Hosting Program has begun!

The Summer 2015 photo listing is OPEN, and they recently added several new children to the photo listing!  There are currently 12 children being hosted from China this summer, which means 26 children still need host families.  If you have not yet done so, please register to see the photo listing of orphans ages 5 to 13 who are available for hosting https://www.ccaifamily.org/Hosting/Host-Register.aspx.  Host families AND back-up host families are needed.

For more information on hosting a child from China, please visit CCAI’s website at http://www.ccaifamily.org/Hosting/Default.aspx  or contact the China Hosting Program Coordinator at hosting@ccaifamily.org.  Those having questions in the evenings and on weekends can contact the Hosting Program Liaison at 404-859-6400.

If you are not able to host at this time, are you able to make a monetary donation to help bring an orphan from China to the US to be hosted this summer?  Any monetary amount is welcome, is tax deductible, and goes toward an orphan’s travel expenses.  Monetary contributions are gifts that make hosting possible for families and children who may otherwise not have this opportunity.

Spread the word about CCAI’s China Hosting Program in your community!   Please consider these truly remarkable ways to make a difference in an orphan's life this summer!  Hosting will not only change a child’s life forever, but will also change your life in ways you never even imagined!

Unique Opportunity for Chinese Adoptees

To celebrate its fifteenth anniversary, the China Center for Children’s Welfare & Adoption (CCCWA, formerly CCAA) is launching an Adoption Month in July to highlight to the general Chinese public the life-changing accomplishments of China’s international adoption program.

They are collecting publications, pictures, videos, and interviews of adoptees. If your adopted child(ren) have achieved a major accomplishment or received a major award or recognition in the area of academics, art and performance, sports, or public (charity) service, please send your story to: itsupport@chinesechildren.org, and they will forward the information to CCWA in China.

The CCCWA requests that your story be accompanied by four pictures (4X6) of your amazing kid(s), a color copy of any award or certificate, and copies of any media coverage/publication. All scanned images must be 300 dpi or more. It would be great if you are able to compress or zip the file first before emailing it to us.

If you have any video footage or audio tracks, you can email them to itsupport@chinesechildren.org or mail to CCAI at: 6920 S Holly Circle, Centennial, CO 80112.

The deadline for submission to CCAI is June 22, 2011.
