Safe Families Training Opportunities!


Safe Families for Children Presents
Chicago Area Volunteer Training Days!

Prospective Safe Families are invited to attend a live, accelerated Comprehensive Training Session. 

Offered as an alternative to online training, this event is designed to equip you to welcome a child into your home (Host Family) or support a host or placing parent (Family Friend) and move you through the training process efficiently. The live Comprehensive Training Session includes everything you need to become a certified Safe Family Volunteer—all in one place. 
  • Start or submit your application
  • Get fingerprints taken for the background check
  • Complete your training hours
  • Meet like-minded families who will support you
February 18, Chicago, IL
February 25th, Evanston, IL
March 4th, Crystal Lake, IL
March 11th, So. Barrington, IL
March 18th, Naperville, IL
for any of the locations.
The training will be in two parts.  The first two hours will be for all volunteers. The second two hours will be for Host Families.  So, anyone interested in being a Family Friend only needs to stay for the first two hours.  Host Families need to stay for the whole training.

A light breakfast and lunch is included.

Here's an Opportunity to Become a Child's Personal Advocate!



Learn More About Becoming a 
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer
 
Join CASA for an upcoming information session to learn how you can get involved and make a difference for a child in McHenry County. CASA volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children from ages 0 -21 years old. There is a child out there who needs your voice.
 
Stop in for all or part of a session to learn more about CASA and their mission to advocate for abused and neglected children. Share this email with someone you think would make a great CASA volunteer.

Doors open at 8:30 AM for those who need to start an application, schedule a home study, start a background check, or ask one-on-one questions.  The training session begins at 9:00 AM sharp.  The training will be held in Room B207.  Please enter in the entrance for The Chapel.  


A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. There will also be a variety of special giveaways throughout the training session you won't want to miss!

Free Parking is available.

Register to Volunteer at Winter Jam and SHARE THE LOVE!


Holt is aiming to have 200 volunteers per Winter Jam concert this year, so your help in sharing the message locally is vital to meeting this goal!! You are a POWERFUL advocate for Holt and the children we serve just by taking a moment to share this opportunity with others! We have had past Holt supporters share the word via email, or with friends on Facebook and other social networks and reach up to 2000 people in one shot!

Winter Jam 2015 is coming to Chicago’s Allstate Arena on Friday, January 30th!
 
What is Winter Jam?
For those of you who aren’t familiar, Winter Jam is the United States’ largest annual Christian music tour, reaching over 600,000 fans across multiple tour dates throughout the US.  
 
No tickets required
For just $10 paid at the door, guests are treated to a night of Christian contemporary and rock music from artists such as Jeremy Camp, Francesca Battistelli and Skillet. You can find out more information about the tour and artists here: http://2015.jamtour.com/
 
We need your help!
Holt International is proud to partner with Winter Jam for the ninth consecutive year. We need hundreds of volunteers on January 30th to help bring hope to vulnerable children through our Child Sponsorship program. Volunteers receive free admission to the show and a free gift! This is a great serving opportunity for staff members, church ministries and small groups.
