Oklahoma Singer Records "Heart of Adoption" Album

Music Aims to Find Homes for Foster Kids: November is 'National Adoption Month'

Oct. 17th, 2011, Tahlequah, OK:

Becky Wright, mom of nine and former school music teacher, is on a mission "to find homes for kids", particularly kids in US foster care. Wright has just completed recording her fourth full-length album, entitled "The Heart of Adoption", which was released in October. Giving voice to the fatherless, the orphan, the foster child, and the forgotten, these ten songs are an eclectic mix of inspirational, rock, R & B (with 12-year-old EJ Avery performing "Who's My Daddy"), country (brand new recording of "Child of My Heart" with Tommy Brandt), and the heart-gripping ballad of a birth mother who relinquishes her baby, "I Gave You Away". Songs of faith, family, hope, and divine intervention, including "Entertaining Angels, Unaware" are certain to inspire. Working closely with Oklahoma's www.111project.org and other organizations nationwide, Wright hopes to raise public awareness and enlist more foster and adoptive families through the music.

See the website for more information or details on Becky's concert /speaking schedule: www.beckywrightsongs.com . (Booking: Lee Porter, Aspiring Mark Agency: 615.656.5987)

Adoption Music

Becky Wright is an award-winning Christian singer/songwriter and Nashville recording artist from Oklahoma. In May 2008 she was named "Female Songwriter of the Year" at the Agape Fest in Texas. A gifted worship leader and conference speaker as well, Becky performs across the USA at churches, festivals, homeless shelters, and for adoption events.  Singing and writing since childhood, her worldwide acclaim began with the writing of “Child of My Heart”, an adoption song which won her the title “Duo of the Year” and a Top 5 Female Horizon Award at the 2006 Agape Fest (TX).  The song was recorded in Nashville with Tommy Brandt, CCMA (Christian Country Music Association) Male Vocalist & Entertainer of the Year, and is now used by adoption and related organizations such as the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (Adoption Services), Arkansas Adoption Coalition, Gift for a Child, ATTACH.org, and others.  For more information about Becky's music, her orphan & adoption advocacy projects and conference/concert schedule, visit http://www.beckywrightsongs.com/

Adoption Music

As you have found out by now, we've added music to our blog! I hope you'll enjoy these songs that wonderfully capture many of the emotions and realities that go along with adopting a child. Whether it is the agony of waiting for the day that your child will be in your arms, reflecting on God's miracles while taking this journey, or simply seeing the beauty of a child through God's eyes, these songs hold special meaning to anyone who has traveled this journey. I have also added songs that help us to be reminded about God's love for all His children. I encourage you to listen to these songs through the eyes of an orphaned or vulnerable child.

In the process of looking for songs, I came across a great web site called http://www.adoptivemusic.com/ that you may want to check out. "The Spirit of Adoption" is a collection of songs from artists whose lives have been touched by adoption. Included are Steven Curtis Chapman, Todd Agnew, Sandi Patty, Mark Schultz and others.
There are many other songs I hope to add to our blog soon. Please send me your suggestions.
