They're Adopting Twins!

Sarah McHugh has been a part of the Adoption, Foster Care & Safe Families Ministry at Willow Creek for about 3 years and  has been a driving force in a leadership role, supporting children and  families in our ministry.

We are thrilled for Sarah and her husband Zach, that they have been chosen to adopt twin babies that are due to be born in July!  While this is reason to get excited, their budget didn't anticipate the extra cost of adopting twins from out of state.
Can you help?

A page has been set up to make giving a donation easy, and all donations are tax deductible.

If you'd like to learn more about Zach and Sarah,  you can visit Sarah's blog, or watch their adoption video.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

Adoption Fundraising Event

If you were at our pot-luck gathering last November, you'll remember Deanna & Rob Sader, a family from Willow Creek that shared their adoption story. Deanna began a journey learning about children with Down Syndrom when their first daughter was born. Through her research and advocacy she discovered an organization called Reece's Rainbow that helps children with D.S. and other special needs, find forever families. Last July, thanks to Reece's Rainbow, Deanna and Rob were able to adopt their daughter Lucy, who was born in Ukraine. As Deanna & Rob prayed about the possibility of another adoption, God lead them back to the Reece's Rainbow web site and to a little girl named "Charity". Now they are on their way to adopting her!

Here's how you can help. With $16,000 to raise, the Sader's are having a fundraising event to help defray their adoption expenses. For a $10 minimum donation, you will be entered into a drawing for 4 round-trip airline tickets anywhere in the continental US and 3 nights in a Hyatt hotel. You will be entered once for every $10 donation you make. All donations are tax deductible.

Here's how to donate:

1. Click on the Sader family blog: http://the21stchromosomeablessingindesguise.blogspot.com/2012/02/get-away-giveaway-for-charity.html

2. Click on the Reece's Rainbow badge in the right column to make your donation.

3. After the donation is made, go back to the Sader family blog and post in the comment section the amount of your donation. This will let them know how many times to enter you into the drawing.

The fundraiser will run until the end of February, and the winner will be picked on March 1st.

If you are able, I hope you'll join me in supporting the Sader family!

A small Russian boy living in an orphanage, a widow living in Middle Tennessee, and a group of young people desperate for pure religion.

What could these three things possibly have in common? All three come together to play key roles in an exciting fundraising opportunity! Both Hands, through its partnership with Lifesong for Orphans is an organization dedicated to comforting widows and helping orphans. A group of friends, along with the adoptive family, fix up a widow's house and ask people to sponsor them. The money raised will be used to bring an orphan into his/her forever family. This is a win/win for everyone!

We believe adoption at its core is evangelism-a vital part of the Great Commission is bringing the mission field home. God desires orphans from all nations to be adopted into Christ-honoring families so they may ultimately be adopted into His eternal family through Jesus Christ. God calls us to fulfill James 1:27, "to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." Some are called to pray, some to give financially, some to go on mission trips, and some to adopt.

When families sense God's call and joyfully step out in faith and obedience , the financial barrier prevents many godly families from adopting. Lifesong believes God rises up these families "for such a time as this..." We have partnered with Both Hands to provide an innovative method to help remove the financial barrier to adoption.

All funds raised through the Lifesong/Both Hands partnership will be given to the adoptive family as a grant to cover their adoption expenses.

Your gift is tax-deductible and you will receive a tax-deductible receipt.

Thank you for investing in the Kingdom through prayer and finances - it will be an investment with an eternal return! (Matt 6:20)
