Show Hope is partnering with Empowered to Connect to present the Empowered to Connect Conference on April 13-14, 2018, in the Chicagoland area. Come experience practical teaching in a safe and supportive community as we work to equip families, churches, and professionals to better serve children impacted by adoption and foster care.

There will be several simulcast locations in the Chicagoland area.  Each day's sessions will run from 9am-5pm (check-in opens at 8am), with a one hour offsite lunch.

The Empowered to Connect Conference features Trust-Based Relational InterventionⓇ methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development to help bring attachment and connection in families. The content is ideal for adoptive and foster parents, those considering adoption or foster care, and those who are serving and supporting others, including social workers, agency professionals, church staff and ministry leaders, counselors and therapists, childcare providers, and extended family members.

Parenting in Space Conference!

Chicago Area Families for Adoption is a proud sponsor of the
2017 Parenting in SPACE conference!
April 28th - 30th, 2017
Hamburger University, Oak Brook, IL

Parenting in SPACE is a conference, some would call an experience, that offers hope to the moms, dads, and caregivers of children and youth who have experienced trauma in early childhood by providing them with the opportunity to connect, learn, and laugh.
Many of the parents and caregivers who attend Parenting in SPACE had  children who joined their families through adoption. Some by birth. Most of their children have very challenging behaviors and great challenges managing their emotions.
Parenting in SPACE provides parents and caregivers many opportunities to learn the theory, and especially the practice, of therapeutic parenting through SPACE, a parenting model that uses the power of human connection to help children achieve greater self-regulation, stronger relationships and deeper self-worth.
Parenting in SPACE offers workshops, support groups, face-to-face time with mental health professionals, and a community of other parents and caregivers - all of whom truly understand the experience of parenting children who have experienced trauma and attachment, and who have behavioral and emotional challenges .

Registration ends this Sunday so don't delay in checking out this great event!
